  • I suspect that Fox execs are focused on margins not ratings. Dramas and comedies cost more to produce than "reality" television. For shows with comparable ratings this can mean a difference of hundreds of thousands of dollars per week.

  • The Postman starring Kevin Costner just completely hijacked the intent of David Brin's vision. The sad part is that the novel lent itself to film, and should have been a relatively easy transition. Even sadder for me was that Costner was the first person I thought of to play the title role.

  • Disregard 2.3, here is a Little Rock Channel 7 report. The story does point away from standard crime, and toward Muhammad/Bledsoe starting a mini-jihad. That said, this story has nothing to do with left vs. right in America. It's about an American citizen killing an American soldier.

  • Knowing Little Rock, I would be very surprised to find that the shooting is political. My money is on a revenge shooting of some kind. As Rob says, we need more info.
